Alan Boyer, Chief Executive Officer
Alan previously was the CEO of Capital Guardian, LLC and Capital Guardian Wealth Management, a full services broker-dealer and registered advisory firm headquartered in Charlotte, NC. Before joining Capital Guardian in 2003, Alan worked for First Union Capital Markets / Wachovia Securities in investment banking from 1998-2003. Prior to First Union / Wachovia, Alan was employed in public accounting for approximate five years specializing in consulting and audits of SEC regulated entities and bank clients. Alan is a CPA and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He Joined Odyssey in January 2015.
Joel Plasco, Executive Chairman and President
Joel started his career as an attorney at Gouldens Solicitors in London, now Jones Day. He left private practice to join the investment bank Collins Stewart. In 2004, he became COO of the Collins Stewart Tullett group, a multi-national broker with over 3,500 staff in 27 locations. He was then appointed CEO of Collins Stewart plc, the group’s investment banking, brokering and wealth management divisions, when it was de-merged and separately listed. During his tenure as CEO, revenues doubled as he focused on key acquisitions and organic wealth management growth. The company had $16 billion of AUM when it was acquired by Cannacord Genuity in 2012. Since 2012 Joel has been involved in variety of fund raising and advisory roles. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. He became Chairman of the Board of Odyssey in January 2016.
Paul M. Pickett, CPA, CFO
Paul joined Odyssey in January 2017. Prior to joining Odyssey, Paul was Partner in the Public Accounting firm of Elliott Davis Decosimo, a US top 30 Accounting firm, and Managing Partner of the Richmond Virginia office. His area of practice focused on financial institutions clients and public companies. He served over 100 public and private bank and bank holding companies as partner in charge of audit and consulting engagements. This includes over 25 initial public offerings and secondary offerings for SEC registrant clients. Paul began his career with the firm in 1990.
John Janiak, Chief Operation Officer
John joined Pratt and Whitney in 1985 in East Hartford, CT as an Engineering Technician, became a QC Manager in 1987 and Operations Manager in 1991. He joined Teleflex Airfoil Management in Los Angeles in 1992 as a business unit manager. In 1994, John was a co-founder of AerOutfitters, Inc. in Newtown Square PA, specializing in turbine engine parts distribution, FAA field service repair, fleet management and engine sales and leasing with over 170 customers. In 2005, John founded M-Dot Aviation in Cape Coral, FL in the same business line. John became the preferred consultant for the JT8D-219 engine for Delta Airlines. He joined Odyssey in July 2016.
Julio Menendez, Sr. Vice President of Sales and Acquisitions
Julio has more than 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. He began his aviation career as an airframe and powerplant technician working for Aerothrust, Batch-Air, Eastern Airlines, Aviall-Ryder, and later transitioning to sales and marketing, where he held senior positions at Amtec, AirLiance Materials, A&E Aerogroup, and Global Engine Maintenance. Julio has participated in hundreds of engine transactions over the course of his career. Julio has a BS and MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He joined Odyssey in January 2017.
Paul Nasimos, Vice President of CFM56 Program
Paul has over 28 years of experience in the aviation industry. He started his career with GE Aircraft Engines where he received factory certified training on the CFM56 engine model type. Paul served several years with Delta Airlines and has held positions of increasing authority throughout his career. Paul holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant License and a FAA gold award. He joined Odyssey in August 2011.
Andrea Johnson, Managing Director, Business Strategy
Andrea Johnson joined Odyssey Engines, LLC in 2018 as Managing Director, Business Strategy. Prior to joining Odyssey, Andrea spent over 12 years of formal study, continuing education and practical application in the Financial Services industry.
Her prior roles included Director of Global Advisory Services, at Braver Wealth Management located in Boston, MA, where she implemented and distributed tactical algorithms to third party distribution channels and International clients. Prior to that, Andrea served as the Director of Advisory Services at Capital Guardian, a Charlotte based RIA. She has received training in the areas of compliance, operational procedures, and international securities and regulation. Offering a strong work ethic, strict organizational skills and proven leadership, she currently focuses on true project management. Andrea is responsible for implementing the integration of various data aggregation systems and assists in Quality Control, Marketing, Strategic Vision and International Business Development. Andrea graduated from Gardner-Webb University, in North Carolina with a Bachelor of Business Administration focusing on Quantitative Analysis, and currently holds her Series 7 and Series 66 license.
